Your Statutory Redundancy Pay
Statutory redundancy pay up to £30,000 is tax-free. Your employer may offer an enhanced package above the statutory minimum — check your employment contract.
How It's Calculated
For each complete year of service (max 20 years):
• Age under 22: ½ week's pay per year
• Age 22–40: 1 week's pay per year
• Age 41 or over: 1½ weeks' pay per year
Weekly pay is capped at £643. Maximum total statutory pay: £19,290.
